The fastest way to get it fixed
Open More → Send feedback inside the app and leave Include the activity log switched on. That log records what the app did and when — never where you were, what you bought or how much — and it turns "the kilometres were wrong" into something that can actually be diagnosed.
If you would rather write from your own mail app, tell me what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead. The app version is at the bottom of the More screen.
Questions that come up
Automatic detection is not catching my drives
It needs location set to Always, not While Using the App. On iPhone also check Background App Refresh is on and Low Power Mode is off. On Android, set the app's battery usage to Unrestricted — Samsung's "sleeping apps" list catches this one in particular.
A trip came back shorter than the drive
Export the activity log and send it. It records how many positions the phone produced, how far apart they were and what the phone was set to at the time, which usually names the cause outright.
The receipt scanner read the wrong total
Correct it and the app remembers the fix for that merchant. Good light, receipt flat, filling the frame beats any amount of processing.
How do I get my records off the phone?
More → Export for CSV, or the annual report for a PDF with the receipt photos attached. Both go through the share sheet, so they can land in Files, Drive or straight into an email.
How do I delete everything?
Settings → Danger zone → Reset all data, or just delete the app. There is no copy anywhere else, so that is the end of it. Export first if you want to keep anything.
Is my data backed up?
Only by whatever backs up your phone. Tax Captain has no server and no account, so there is nothing to restore from if the phone is lost and nothing was exported.
Can it tell me what I can claim?
No, and it will not pretend to. It keeps the records and shows its working; the claim is between you and a registered tax agent.
